RV

Are you keen to join the 11.2 million people in the USA that already own an RV? If so, you’ve got some decisions to make.

There are hundreds of different models available nowadays, each offering something that might appeal to you. From luxury motorhomes to tiny trailers, the world of RVs is a diverse leisure showcase.

That’s why it’s difficult to define the best RV overall. Rather, read these pointers on how to find the best one for you.

Choosing the Best RV For You

There are two main types of RVs available nowadays, namely drivable and towable RVs. When it comes to towable RVs, you can choose between large fifth-wheel models or more compact travel trailers.

Your budget and the towing capacity of your vehicle are the main criteria when deciding between these types of RVS. You should also consider how many people will travel in the RV, as well as the amenities provided.

Drivable RVs fall into three main categories, namely class A, B, and C RVs.

Class A RVs are 26 to 45-feet long and can weigh as much as 30,000 lbs. The larger ones can accommodate up to 10 people, and they often feature supremely luxurious interiors and slide-outs for extra space.

Class B RV’s are smaller versions of class A, usually mounted on a van chassis. They’re between 17 and 23-feet long and weigh between 4,000 and 9,000 pounds.

Class C RVs have a distinctive shape thanks to the extra storage or sleeping space above the cab. They’re mounted on a pickup truck chassis and boast varying degrees of luxury.

These RVs are up to 30 feet long and weigh a maximum of 13,000 lbs.

Some RV manufacturers create their versions of each type, while others focus only on one specific kind of RV.

The Best RV Brands

While some RVers remain loyal to one brand all their lives, RV awards recognize different brands every year and RV ratings can vary widely too.  These are some top names in the RV world today:

Winnebago RVs

This well-established brand is a long-standing favorite among RVers, offering a range of class A, B, and C motorhomes as well as fifth wheels, and travel trailers.
